Roundabout Grill, a restaurant featuring American-inspired cuisine by Chef Colin Smith, will debut a Tasting Trio wine and appetizer pairing starting Friday, August 25, 2017. The Trio will be available every Friday from 4-6 p.m.
First Paring: Acrobat Rosé of Pinot Noir, Oregon, 2016
Tasting Notes: Exuberant pink color with salmon hues. The nose exudes a freshness of lime zest, pomegranate and just ripe strawberries, structured with a pleasant violet aroma. Red cherries are immediately apparent on the palate with orange blossom, key lime and potpourri. This wine is lively and playful from the onset, with focused acidity that balances the juicy fruit flavors.
Appetizer: Fresh Ricotta and Strawberry Carpaccio with Lime Zested Vinaigrette Brioche Toast
Second Pairing: Cambria Benchbreak Chardonnay, Santa Maria Valley, Certified Sustainable, 2014
Tasting Notes: Opens with lively fruit and oak spice aromas. Citrus, pineapple, white peach and apple flavors carry through the mid-palate and into the fresh, clean finish.
Appetizer: Smoked Chicken and Brie Quesadilla with Grilled Pineapple Salsa
Third Paring: Saget La Petite Perriere Pinot Noir, France, 2015
Tasting Notes: Beautiful ruby color mingled with a garnet hue. On the nose, aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry. The palate is fleshy at the point of entry then full, ample and generous, flowing into a crisp cherry-driven finish with an ultra-fresh beading sensation. A mouth-filling wine offering up the generosity and typicity of a Pinot Noir that has just hit maturity.
Appetizer: Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Dried Cherry Chutney- Black Pepper and Shoestring Fries
